Raku Vase Waves 305
This one-of-a-kind vase is handcrafted by Danuta, whose intuitive approach to form and surface transforms raw clay into something deeply expressive. Raku-fired using a traditional technique, the unglazed surface turns a rich, smoky black during firing — while undulating wave-like ridges travel the length of the form, catching shadow and light in equal measure. Glazed accents punctuate the surface with warmth and contrast. Tall and commanding, this piece is as much sculpture as vessel.
